A Refreshing Take on Car Meets by NoChill

These days, local car scenes are often associated with rev-happy chaos and over-the-top showmanship. However, a more chilled, quiet event took place in the calm suburbs of Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, nestled in Cheras. “Kereta, Kawan & Kopi,” hosted by the NoChill group, delivered exactly what its name promised — cars, friends, and great coffee — with a warm, respectful atmosphere that stood out from the typical weekend gatherings.

Held on the morning of a Sunday on the 13th of July, the event drew a solid turnout with a steady stream of 60 – 70 cars throughout the day, ranging from young petrolheads to family men, some even bringing along their wives and kids.

Since the NoChill guys are known for their members’ ownerships of VW Golfs, there were no shortage of the German-manufacturer’s most beloved model. However, a smorgasbords of other cars, from Honda CRZs & Jazzs, Perodua MyVis & Proton’s hot hatch; the Satria GTI & Neos, to a couple of BMW M2s, classic Mercedes’, Toyota GR86 & even an A90 Supra & Nissan GTR. It was a true celebration of the automotive lifestyle done right—inclusive, relaxed, and above all, responsible.

The event wasn’t just about one group showing off; other car communities such as Hatch Life, Motor Drive Group (MDG), Biadap Cult, BK Performance, and Dec3nt showed up in full support. Together, they turned the meet into a melting pot of diverse builds, shared stories, and mutual respect.

What made “Kereta, Kawan & Kopi” special wasn’t just the cars—it was the vibe. There were no rowdy rev battles, no noise pollution, and no competitions. Just good conversations, clean rides, and an unspoken code of mutual appreciation and manners all around the cafe. Whether it was an aggressively tuned hatchback or a clean daily driver, every car and every owner got the respect they deserved.

As NoChill put it, the goal was simple: gather passionate drivers and enthusiasts, create meaningful connections over coffee, and foster a space where everyone is welcome, no matter what they drive. Judging by the smiles, the camaraderie, and the overwhelming turnout, it’s safe to say; Mission Accomplished.

So, we would ask: WHAT’S NEXT?

Great cars, great coffee, great people, makes for a greater atmosphere & even greater bond. We’d like to thank NoChill for inviting us to join their event. This won’t be the last time you’ll see this group, as something is in the works, will come soon. We’d also like to extend our gratitude to the others for making this a respectable event & everyone was so welcoming and well-spoken. Finally, to the MiKafe shop for hosting good drinks & sponsoring the venue as well.
